Welcome to Life With a Little One

Hi, I’m Lisa, mum to an energetic toddler boy, part‑time working woman, and now… blogger. If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d be writing about the chaos, joy, and everyday surprises of motherhood, I probably would’ve laughed. Yet here I am, typing away during nap time, finally carving out a space that’s just for me.

Becoming a mum has been the most fulfilling experience of my life. It’s beautiful, exhausting, hilarious, overwhelming, grounding, and messy in ways I never expected. Some days I feel like I’m absolutely smashing it. Other days I’m Googling “is it normal for toddlers to…” while reheating the same cup of coffee for the fourth time. And honestly, that’s real life, or at least, it’s mine.

Why I Started This Blog

I’ve always loved connecting with people, sharing ideas, and learning from others. Since becoming a mum, I’ve found myself constantly searching for relatable stories, practical tips, and honest conversations about what parenting is actually like. Not the Instagram-perfect version, the real stuff.

So I decided to create Life With a Little One as a place where I can:

  • Share the highs and lows of motherhood
  • Talk openly about balancing work and family
  • Offer tips that have genuinely helped me
  • Celebrate the small wins
  • Laugh about the chaos
  • And hopefully make other parents feel a little less alone

This isn’t a space for perfection. It’s a space for honesty, humour, and heart.

A Little About Me

Outside of being “Mum,” I’m someone who loves good food, cosy evenings, and finding small pockets of calm in a busy life. I work four days per week, which means I’m constantly juggling schedules, responsibilities, and the never-ending laundry pile. I’m learning every day – about parenting, about myself, and about how to keep a tiny human alive while still remembering where I left my keys!

What You Can Expect Here

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing:

  • Toddler-friendly activities
  • Realistic routines that actually work
  • Thoughts on the emotional side of motherhood
  • Tips for balancing work and family life
  • Honest reflections on the good days and the not-so-good ones

If you’re a parent, a soon-to-be parent, or just someone who enjoys a peek into the wonderfully unpredictable world of raising little humans, I’m so glad you’re here.

Here’s to the start of something new, and to navigating life with a little one, together.
